Our Story

I'm a grandmother to 13 incredible grandchildren, two of whom are autistic and nonverbal. Through them, I've seen firsthand how important sensory support can be, and how unique every sensory journey is.

One of my grandsons has always had a strong need to chew. As he grew older, that need didn't go away. Chewing helps him regulate, focus, and find comfort throughout the day. But as I searched for options that fit his needs, I discovered that most products on the market were designed for teething babies or very young children. There were very few choices that felt appropriate for older kids or teens.

I knew there had to be a better way.

That's why I created Calmensa.

At Calmensa, we design chewelry that combines sensory support with style and confidence Our pieces are thoughtfully created for older children, teens, and anyone who benefits from oral sensory input, offering wearable tools that feel age appropriate, comforting, and empowering.

We believe sensory needs don't disappear with age, and the products that support those needs shouldn't have to look childish or stand out in ways that make someone uncomfortable. Everyone deserves tools that help them feel regulated while still feeling like themselves.
